Beech Cottage (Hot Tub) - Skelwith Bridge

Lovely place! Positive: The house itself, the location (next to a pub, great walking from the door, the hot tub.) Negative: Not a big deal but the roads either side meant there was quite a lot of traffic, not quiet.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at Beech cottage Positive: Good location, the property was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped. The hot tub was excellent. Adequate car parking nice garden. Negative: The garden would benefit with side gates to prevent the dog escaping onto the main road. The window in the rear bedroom and the main bathroom would not close so left open. There was no instructions for the Tv, we eventually got it working with the free view however, the picture quality was poor.

Our family could not grasp the picturesque little cottage that we were going to stay in for three nights! They were over the moon!Hosts were so helpful and responsive!A few things to know:The road leading to the cottage is soooo narrow and windy. Be prepared to drive this 2 mile route over and over again. Also I just feel like for the amount each night costs at this cottage that a least a few more amenities should be included. Would wants to go out and buy toilet paper on their vacation after paying 400-500/night? Whether staying one night or six you still only get one half roll of toilet paper for your whole stay. I feel like this is a super inexpensive upgrade to at least give one spare roll per bathroom and the same for paper towels. Other than these minor inconveniences we highly recommend this cottage for a perfect Lake District stay.

Wholesome Positive: Very quaint cottage which came out right on the bus route into Ambleside. Equally you could take a beautiful walk up over the hills to get into Ambleside too. Negative: Only recommendation is having logs in the cottage for use of the fire.
